Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re looking to hire a Copywriter for a financial services client. 

You’ll join a team of writers, art directors, designers, video editors and animators who develop creative work to promote the company and grab the attention of prospective and current customers.  In this contract role, you'll enjoy the freedom to exercise independent judgment and use your conceptual chops to create ideas that translate marketing strategies into best-in-class content. 

• Duration: This is a 3-month project opportunity with the potential to extend to six months. 
• Location:  Westwood, MA or Providence, RI
• In-office collaboration required three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).

 Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with designers and project teams to develop compelling marketing concepts for financial products.
• Create impactful copy for prospective and current financial services customers across thought leadership, digital and social advertising, email, collateral, direct mail, video scripts, and more.
• Develop creative concepts that translate complex financial topics into engaging, customer-friendly messaging.
• Partner with marketing, business, legal, and compliance teams to align messaging with brand and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to and refine brand guidelines to maintain consistency across all content.

 
Skills & Experience needed:

• 4+ years of copywriting experience in an in-house or external advertising agency.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your short-form copywriting—please provide a link or PDF.
• Expertise in financial services copywriting, with experience engaging high-net-worth individuals, wealth management clients, or commercial banking audience is required.
• Strong background in creative concepting and integrated campaign development.
• Deep understanding of email marketing, social media, short-form content, and direct marketing best practices.
• Journalism or editorial experience is a plus, particularly in interviewing financial subject matter experts.
• Ability to research, write, and self-edit under tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
