This position will begin as freelance with the opportunity to convert to permanent. This role begins on as soon as possible in January, on-site in New York City. What you'll be doing: Partnering with the Retail Design team to concept and design new window displays to be rolled out across stores in the US. Our client, a mobile product agency, is in search of a UX Researcher to join their Product team on a permanent basis. This role begins on-site in NYC as soon as possible. What you'll be doing: Develop, own and execute the user research process for new app development, websites, strategic projects and other digital product developments. Determine the best research methodologies to be used based on your prior experience and understanding of the objective outcome, conduct research and use data output to inform the project development and design. Compile and communicate findings of research via presentations, reports, workshops, etc. to stakeholders and product team to inform development decisions. Through each project you will gain a deep understanding of the user target's motivations and issues, and utilize them as evidence for your roadmap for research. Work with the team to define the product features to be built leveraging the discovery interviews and goals set. Continue to build upon your knowledge in the product space to understand the technical and business requirements and constraints as it pertains to clients and build this into your research. Partner with the full agency team of Product Designers, PM's, Engineers and UX Researchers to prioritize research needs and roadmaps. Obtain important insights about users through different methods of research including things like ethnographic observation, diaries, usability studies, interviews, surveys or even something you create yourself. Take research findings and translate into usable insights and actionable design tools including things like personas, design principles, requirements, etc. Other tasks may apply. About you: 2-4 years of UX Research experience, ideally in a product agency setting. Professional experience conducting live and remote usability studies and interviews. Expert at uncovering the factors that influence behavior in the product spaces. Knowledge of UI standards and conventions. Incredibly curious, great at asking questions and passionate about learning. Solid understanding of iOS and Android native app research. Very strong at expressing your insights through different mediums (storytelling, writing, hands-on workshops).
