Our San Diego-based Bio/Pharma client is seeking a scientific TECHNICAL WRITER to oversee and contribute to the creative process through technical writing of documents for various audiences, mostly scientific. Responsible for verifying & validating documentation concerning this client and their products. Collaboration with other teams is as important as writing and disseminating information. This is a year-long contract position through Onward Search. Responsibilities: Responsible for editing b2c and internal documentation for consistency, clarity and confirm it follows the client's standards and style guides. Write, Edit and plan technical documentation for physicians, researchers, clinicians, and bioinformaticians. Able to interview specialists, research material, attend trainings and demonstrations, observe users and use the product. Experience with CMS's, using best practices, following departmental guidelines for terminology, content management, and reuse. Responsible for getting final documents to "Document Control" and keep meticulous records of all drafts, materials used. Expert in current standards for tech writing, online help, content for digital/online, a solid understanding of content technology and user experience. Fast learner Adaptable and solution-oriented in the face of technological or organizational change. Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in software, hardware, biotech. Able to work with many types of people/groups. Looking for someone comfortable setting themselves up as a strong partner who can quickly gain trust by gathering input & can effectively work with stakeholders to gain missing or ambiguous information. Strong time management, organizational and project management skills. Thrive in a fast-paced environment. of tight deadlines and constant change. Being resourceful and personable goes a long way. Solid understanding of technical writing, content management, and reuse. Expert in MadCap Flare (or similar), Adobe Acrobat, SnagIt (or similar), Microsoft Office, and web authoring tools and languages. Knowledge of localization management, Adobe Experience Manager, Confluence, and scripting languages is a plus.
