JOB DESCRIPTION: Our client, a top gaming company, is looking to hire a Graphic Designer for a 3-month contract. You will be responsible for focusing on the game player’s experience and interaction with the game and platform. Their goal is to make the player’s experience as engaging as possible. Graphic Designers are responsible for developing assets which include the creation of trading cards, backgrounds, emoticons, etc. for presentation to a player on a platform. The Graphic Designer will play a role in conceptualizing, designing, and creating individual assets for the platform. Animation may also be required.ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES: Works closely with the account manager and the studio brand lead; participates in the creative process of the platform interface elements Creates game assets for the PC platform consistent with the game's art direction Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts. Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed. Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy and select style and size of type. Responsible for optimizing file size and configurations. Confer with the product owner to discuss and determine layout design. Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with supervisors and making necessary changes. Study illustrations and photographs to plan the presentation of materials, products, or services. Additionally, Graphic Designer candidates will need to provide customized art content for multiple game franchises daily, sometimes 20+ images per day in a variety of formats as needed for the platform. SKILLS: Background in digital interface design (console, software, web, mobile) Must have experience with Photoshop, Flash, and/or Illustrator. Nice to have skills include 3DS Max, Maya, Softimage/XSI, Premiere, Dreamweaver, and After Effects. Strong artistic, typographic, and layout skills. Develop innovative design solutions while following creative and art direction. A passion for design is mandatory. A portfolio must also demonstrate a creative approach and style without sacrificing the readability and flow of information. This person will be responsible for managing documentation services to support the companies digital asset management systems. Packaging includes the design of the structure, graphics, and documentation. Coodinate and manage Bill of Materials (BOM), including part numbers creation, releases, change orders and end to end process. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work collaboratively with internal clients to deliver solutions that meet business objectives and assure high quality to meet schedule - Create and manage BOM part numbers for all packaging elements, including but not limited to original design and localization of graphics, structure and documentation, and all other supporting files - Version control and change management - Release of part numbers to manufactures - Start workflows for design work and localization BACKGROUND + EXPERIENCE: - BA degree or 2 years equivalent work experience - Digital Asset Management systems (DAMs) - Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Apps - Understanding of BOM structures - Understanding of retail packaging development - Understanding of graphics development processes - Previous experience in the retail consumer electronics industry is a plus
