This March, we were proud to honor and celebrate Women’s History Month with our employees and talent. At Onward Search, we recognize the ongoing struggles and inequalities women face in the workplace and are committed to creating an environment where they can flourish. We hope that by learning about the past and uplifting the women around us, we can truly make a difference.  Here are some of the things we did this month to highlight women’s achievements.

International Women’s Day

On March 8th, we celebrated International Women’s Day by highlighting the amazing women who work at Onward Search. We wanted to recognize and show appreciation for the hard work and achievements our female employees make all year long that contribute to our success.

At Onward Search, we are centered on making this a great place to work for all our  employees. We were recently named a “Best Company for Women” by Comparably, an  employment review site with the mission of providing the most accurate and comprehensive culture  data. Our CEO and Co-Founder, Ken Clark, was also recognized on their list for “Best CEOs for Women.” We currently maintain an A+ average by our female employees and an A+ average for our overall culture. We also rank in the top 5% for Gender and 15% for Diversity when compared to similarly sizedcompanies.

Career Resources for Women:

In honor of Women’s History Month, we created a resource page geared towards Women  professionals in our industry. We curated a list of the top groups, associations, and organizations  dedicated to women’s advancement and success in the creative, marketing, and technology fields   to provide resources to our talent and our Onward community.

Celebrating Influential Women

As one of the leaders in our fieldwe believe that to fuel change we must use our platform to educate and inspire the next generation of female leaders in the creative, marketing and technology space. Internally, our DEI team educated our employees on the notable women who have  paved the way in our industry.

Some notable women we featured were:

  • Bumble CEO and Co-FounderWhitney Wolfe Herd who was the youngest female CEO ever to take a company Public.
  • Netflix Chief Marketing Officer, Bozoma Saint John who is Netflix’s first ever Black woman executive.
  •  Transgender Activist and Star of Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, Laverne Cox, who not only has been recognized for her Emmy-nominated acting abilities, but for making strides in the fight for LBGTQIA+ rights in Hollywood and around the world.

Book on Women’s Contributions to Human and Women’s Rights:

Our DE&I committee also shared books to expand our knowledge on women who have made strides in advocating for Womens’ rights.

We read about:

  •  Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani education activist and youngest Noble Peace Prize laureate, who continuously fights for the right to an education for all children around the world.

Book: I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World

  • Elizabeth Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, the founding mothers of the Women’s Suffrage Movement whose unwavering efforts helped grant women the right to vote.

Book: Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, A Friendship That Changed the World

Lastly, our employees came together to honor influential women in our lives who have shaped us into the people we are today. We bonded over learning about female role models, peers, grandmothers, and mentors who all have made individual contributions to our society.

Going forward, we will continue to use our platform to celebrate Women pioneers and to stand up against injustice, share resources to help and educate ourselves and others on the stories and the  injustices faced by all minorities in our country. We are dedicated to creating a world where all belong.  We strive to inspire change and empower future generations of leaders within the creative, marketing,  and technology space.
