We’re seeking an Experiential Designer to support a creative team specializing in immersive environments and experiences. Our client, a leading entertainment company, is looking for a skilled professional to lead the development of innovative design concepts and oversee their execution across various projects. This is a hybrid role with office work primarily required for a contract lasting between 10 to 26 weeks.

Experiential Designer Responsibilities:

  • Act as a collaborative partner to creative managers and cross-functional teams, establishing and maintaining the overall visual language, design standards, and creative vision for attractions, environments, and experiences throughout all project phases.
  • Translate conceptual discussions into tangible design outputs, including sketches, layouts, mood boards, illustrations, and 3D models to support the development process.
  • Prepare comprehensive design packages and reference materials for external vendors, including mood boards, material and texture references, color schemes, graphics, and detailed shop drawings, to clearly communicate design intent.
  • Collaborate with production teams to develop and realize proof-of-concept mockups, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Interpret and incorporate the client’s brand strategy, visual identity, and experiential objectives into daily art direction, providing a clear rationale for design decisions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure the creative vision is consistent across all workstreams, including marketing, operations, retail, and attraction production.
  • Provide on-site supervision to maintain creative quality during construction, installation, and programming phases of the project.

Experiential Designer Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated 8+ years of experience in experiential retail, exhibition, theatrical, or location-based entertainment design, with a mix of studio and on-site project involvement.
  • Proven experience designing for both temporary and long-lasting environments.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse design styles and mediums, illustrating creativity and a willingness to experiment with new approaches.
  • Ability to translate brand and IP strategies into compelling environmental and experiential designs.
  • Proficient with digital design tools such as SketchUp, Maya, Blender, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Knowledge of production methods, materials, and finishes relevant to large-scale experiential design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills using digital tools and Google Workspace.

Eligibility requires working over 30 hours per week on an assignment lasting at least 10 weeks.
