We’re seeking an Application Security Engineer to support a leading audio streaming service company. This fully remote role is ideal for a seasoned security professional with experience in a high-scale environment serving over 400 million users. Based in the EST time zone, you'll help elevate the organization's software security practices and support cross-disciplinary teams to implement industry-best security measures.

Application Security Engineer Responsibilities:

• Provide expert guidance on application security best practices across multiple software disciplines, ensuring alignment with modern industry standards.
• Educate and collaborate with engineering teams through practices like Threat Modeling to identify and mitigate security risks.
• Lead initiatives to enhance the security of the company's engineering ecosystem and products.
• Support the adoption and customization of security tools such as Static Application Security Testing (SAST), incorporating user feedback to optimize their effectiveness.
• Develop and communicate security guidance tailored to various use cases within the organization.

Application Security Engineer Qualifications:

• Over five years of practical experience in application security roles.
• Strong familiarity with OWASP Top 10 for Web and API security, with additional expertise in mobile and LLM security frameworks preferred.
• Proficiency in analyzing findings from SAST tools across languages like Java, Python, Scala, C++, and TypeScript.
• Experience tuning SAST tools to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy; QL query writing for CodeQL is a plus.
• Ability to write automated security scripts and tools to integrate into modern development workflows.

Eligibility requires working over 30 hours per week on an assignment lasting at least 10 weeks.
