We’re seeking a Toy Designer to support a leading company specializing in consumer products and entertainment merchandise. This contract (6-12 months) Hybrid LA role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the development of innovative hardgood products for pre-school children.
Toy Designer (Hardlines) Responsibilities:
- Lead the creative development and execution of hardlines consumer products based on our titles, ensuring innovative market relevance while maintaining alignment with licensing properties.
- Oversee the entire product development process from conceptualization through to retail launch, including designing assortments that stand out across global markets.
- Collaborate closely with internal art, licensing, and retail teams to ensure packaging and product deliverables align with strategic branding and quality standards.
- Manage partnerships with licensees, brands, and retailers, guiding them on translating titles into successful consumer products across categories like toys, plush, collectibles, and electronics.
- Develop tools and guidelines that inspire new approaches in product innovation, focusing on speed to market and efficient collaboration with partners.
Toy Designer Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in hardlines consumer product design and development, particularly with licensed and vertical product lines.
- Proven expertise in toy development, including game-based and electronic products.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple segments such as collectibles for both kids and adults, with a focus on pre-school toys.
- Strong trend-spotting skills coupled with a capacity for innovative thinking.
- Proficiency in managing both strategic initiatives and daily operations efficiently.

Eligibility requires working over 30 hours per week on an assignment lasting at least 10 weeks.
