We’re seeking a Director of HR Operations for an exciting full-time opportunity with our client, a rapidly growing enterprise that’s reimagining its people operations strategy across North America. This role is based onsite at the company’s corporate headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA, and relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
As the Director of HR Operations, you’ll join the executive HR leadership team and play a pivotal role in scaling HR operations to support business expansion. You’ll lead a high-performing team and drive the development of scalable processes, data-driven decision-making, and strategic HR initiatives across payroll, HRIS, compliance, and organizational design. This is an ideal opportunity for an innovative HR leader who thrives in fast-paced, growth-focused environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, document, and implement scalable HR processes that support organizational growth and operational excellence.

Lead and develop a team of 8 direct reports across Payroll and HRIS functions.

Oversee payroll and HRIS operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and alignment with business needs.

Develop and execute change management and internal communication strategies that support enterprise-wide HR initiatives.

Drive cross-functional workforce initiatives, including organizational design, workforce planning, and succession management.

Deliver strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership through data analysis and impactful presentations.

Collaborate with business leaders to enhance employee relations, engagement, and organizational culture.

Provide consultation on performance management, including coaching and disciplinary support.

Ensure HR compliance across U.S. and Canadian operations and mitigate associated risks.

Support M&A efforts through workforce integration, cultural alignment, and change communication strategies.

Develop HR systems and tools that increase M&A readiness.

Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives aligned with company values and market demographics.
Requirements:
-
At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role managing HR operations, payroll, or HRIS teams.

Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration on major initiatives.

Proven ability to create and scale HR processes in dynamic, high-growth environments.

Track record of delivering measurable impact in a rapidly evolving organization.
-
Willingness to travel 30–50% to field locations across the U.S. and Canada.
