We’re seeking a Technical Writer III to join the team at a leading video game developer and publisher known for its player-first mindset, inclusive culture, and commitment to innovation. This fully remote position is based out of Los Angeles, CA and offered as a 1+ year contract.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and data teams to produce high-quality documentation supporting telemetry systems, data analytics platforms, and software processes. It’s an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and creative team, shaping how information is captured, organized, and shared across one of the most recognized names in gaming.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and analysts to gather technical information through interviews and strategic sessions.

Create and maintain high-quality documentation such as:

Telemetry and analytics information architectures
-
Training modules on data science fundamentals
-
Overviews of data management workflows (modeling, telemetry implementation, testing, deployment)
-
Standards and best practice guides for telemetry implementation
-
Diagrams of system architectures and data processes
-
Practical guides for querying and visualizing data in the central data warehouse
Partner with other technical writers to promote documentation quality, consistency, and long-term compliance.
Contribute to the design and optimization of documentation standards, repositories, and organizational structures.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
-
6+ years of technical writing experience in the tech or gaming industry.

Proven ability to document complex systems and processes in collaboration with engineering teams.

Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate them into clear, user-friendly content.

Strong interviewing and information-gathering skills.

Deep understanding of core technical writing principles and best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.

Prior experience in the gaming industry.

Familiarity with data and analytics tools and concepts, including:

Data governance platforms and business metrics in gaming

Telemetry flows and data security policies
-
Data visualization tools and AI/ML use cases
Experience with source control systems and content versioning.
Proficiency with tools such as Notion, Git, JIRA, and Google Suite.
