We are currently seeking an experienced UX Content Designer for a remote opportunity based out of Chicago, Illinois. This is a long-term, remote contract role.

As a UX Content Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring digital content is user-centric, easy to navigate, and aligned with design best practices. Your focus will be on optimizing content across various digital platforms while maintaining consistency with brand guidelines and accessibility standards. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to create seamless and intuitive user experiences.

UX Content Designer Responsibilities:

  • Optimize content across multiple channels, devices, and touchpoints to meet user needs and enterprise standards.

  • Leverage data science and UX research to understand user behaviors, identify opportunities, and minimize friction.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including designers, product managers, accessibility experts, and stakeholders—to shape positive user experiences.

  • Develop user stories, guide content priorities, and own content reviews and iterations across stakeholders.

  • Ensure consistent voice and tone, adding content directly to wireframes using tools like Figma.

  • Lead content design workshops and critiques to refine and elevate user experiences.

UX Content Designer Qualifications:

  • A portfolio that can show product writing work on mobile apps, digital products, and service design.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, English, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).

  • Over 5 years of experience in UX writing, UX design, or content design.

  • At least 2 years of experience with Agile and lean UX practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in UX wireframing, UX flows, and prototyping tools such as Figma and Miro.

  • Experience in regulated industries such as pharmacy or healthcare is a plus.

  • Familiarity with enterprise content management systems and usability testing.

  • Experience working in large organizations or at an enterprise level (preferred).

  • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and regulatory writing constraints (preferred).

  • Expertise with taxonomy, design systems, and content management systems (preferred).
