A leading manufacturing company is hiring a Lead Wiring Diagram Designer to join their team. This remote role involves overseeing a wiring design group in Rancho Cordova, CA, supporting industrial power distribution projects. The position demands experience in control panel design and team leadership, with an emphasis on accuracy and standards compliance.

Lead Wiring Diagram Designer Responsibilities:

• Manage and review the production of point-to-point wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and schematic drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Allocate tasks across the design team according to project timelines and individual capacity, monitoring progress and addressing bottlenecks.
• Ensure all drawings are thoroughly checked for compliance before release, identifying and addressing recurring errors or knowledge gaps.
• Develop and enforce drawing conventions, manage library assets, and coordinate with the CAD team to implement custom tools and templates.
• Facilitate onboarding, deliver targeted training, and establish workflow improvements to optimize the wiring design process.

Lead Wiring Diagram Designer Qualifications:

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in wiring diagram and control panel layout creation within industrial or power distribution environments.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing a team of drafters or engineers.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, including tool palettes, custom and dynamic blocks, and layer management.
• Strong understanding of electrical standards such as NEC, UL 891, UL 1558, and ANSI/IEEE pertinent to panel wiring.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear feedback and standard explanations.
